Who is Lady Willow Nightshade?Hello, little flower! I am Lady Willow Nightshade, subliminal enchantress and ambience crafter of Nightshade's Auralcraft.
Though I'd been lurking around the community quietly for a few years prior, I started my more public journey on YouTube in 2019 after a prominent submaker was found to be slipping negative affirmations into her work. I thought, "If I'm making these things for myself already, it couldn't hurt to share them with other people who might find benefit from them." To my surprise, though I had no intentions of such a thing when sharing my tools, my channel quickly grew. Since my method for subliminal crafting was short and sweet at the time, I took requests and, eventually, started making unique subliminals that I thought could bring little bit of peace, magic, and whimsy to the table. The more I shared, the more I grew. Quite suddenly, my little hobbies had flourished into something more. In 2024, I felt called to invest myself into the community once more with a wealth of fresh knowledge on the topics of subliminals and manifestation. Thus, the Auralcraft Formula was born and the first edition of my guide to subliminals was completed. At this time, I am in the process of relaunching my entire library of subliminals with this new crafting method and I am collecting my notes to release another and even more thorough version of my book on top of the other businesses I run in other corners of the internet. |
A Little More About Me...
Lady Willow Nightshade, of course, is a moniker. As I do have a presence elsewhere online - and with the things I have experienced online - I initially thought it best to anonymously separate my presence there from my presence here. The average person already gives anyone who dwells in esoteric circles or discusses otherwise offbeat topics a side-eye (or worse, in this very angry society we live in right now). Within those circles though are people who, despite being open to things like manifestation and spiritual entities and astral projection, will openly balk at (or, again, worse) those who remain even slightly open to the ideas like subliminals or its adjacent reality shifting. I was once afraid of those people after having encounters with them for much less. I was worried about delving into anything "weirder" than the "acceptable level of weird" for fear it would impact my credibility.
But I have always considered myself an eternal student of the Kosmos. There is so much out there that we don't understand. What kind of student would I be if I ignored the staggering number of people claiming that these things worked for them if I didn't explore it for myself? Further, upon finding these things to indeed have merit, even if we may not fully understand the inner workings of them, why would I want to keep the things I learn from people who could benefit from them just so I can continue to walk on eggshells with the people who are going to scrutinize my work anyway for any hint of openness to some other belief which contradicts their own dogma?
As such, over time and with great deliberation, I've decided that the potential positive impact of getting the tools and ideas I've shared in the subliminal community into the hands of others out there who may find the same benefit from them that I and many others within the community have far outweighs the potential insults that could come along with it. Yes, I'm a little weird, a little silly, and very curious, but so is metaphysics in general, and it was subliminals, in fact, that have come to help me accept myself regardless of how others might perceive me.
So as of now, though I will continue to go by Lady Willow Nightshade around here since it is the name the community has grown familiar with, I have been much more open about my work with subliminals and much more open within the community itself about the work I do outside of subliminals. Elsewhere, I go by Dezy Delaceur, under which I run a metaphysical shop and library called The Witchy Housewife, a dark luxury clothing and decor shop called the Luxe Gothique Boutique, and share my artwork and writing under the label of Dezydration. What's up with the name Lady Willow Nightshade?
It's just a whimsical little combination of two of my favorite types of plants: The willow tree and the nightshade flower. Tagging the title 'Lady' onto the front also reminds me of a lot of pen names which have been used by various witchy authors over the years. It doesn't really mean anything beyond that really. ☺️
What does "auralcraft" mean?
Aural is an adjective which describes a relation to the sense of hearing. Of course, both my subliminals and my ambience mixes are both aural in nature. I consider them to be something like spiritually medicinal ear candy. Craft is a verb which describes the act of creating something. Further, the craft often refers to witchcraft and the practice of magick. In the case of my ambience work, I intend to craft an atmosphere - to mentally transport the listener to another place and/or time. In the case of my subliminal work, I intend craft every subliminal with an infusion of relevant energy to serve its stated intention. Thus, I have coined the word auralcraft to mean the act and practice of crafting audio with intention and emotional energy. Anyone is free to practice auralcraft. 💜
How do I find out when new subliminals/ambience/books/articles are available?
You can find updates on my work here via my subliminal or ambience YouTube channels, my Patreon page, or my Tumblr blog, and you can either subscribe, join, or follow me on those platforms to be better notified when I release something new. At this time, I am not taking paid requests. I may open private paid requests again in the future, but my focus right now is solely on the relaunch of my old library with my new formula.

At this time, I likely would not want to collaborate with any other subliminal creators or ambience mix makers, as these projects involve a deeply personal process of creation. Perhaps in the future, but not for the moment.

I have plenty of information available here on the process of creating subliminals and here on the process of creating ambience mixes. In the future, I may be open to offering a video tutorial on both.

You don't really believe in all this, do you? Are you a grifter?
Since I started kindergarten, I have been teased, put down, or berated for various interests and beliefs. I was bullied by other students (and even one teacher) in school for enjoying academics. I was condescended by people I trusted for things like my romanticization of life. I’ve been scolded many, many times by strangers on the internet for various metaphysical beliefs I have, often by people who themselves believe in other weird things. And, of course, as I think most people have now, I have been shouted at and sent wonderfully graphic threats for baseless assumptions. Thus, this is a question I am including in this FAQ, and the answer is quite simple: If I share something here, I believe in it, regardless of whether or not you believe in it. On the other hand, if I don’t share something here, any notions you may have about where I stand on those beliefs are without substance – and you can ask me about them, but I am not obligated to respond. I am not a “grifter”, as this new and excited branch of cancel culture calls it. Further, I am human and allowed to be wrong and change my mind about things with new information and experiences.
Why do you ask for donations for your work? Are you doing this for money?
This pursuit has always been one of love and leisure. My entire library of subliminal and ambient audio content is free both for listening and for download. I've put several months-worth of hours, at least, in it all at this point. Anything extra I offer is completely optional. Knowing all that and still feeling that I am greedy or do this for money is baseless. Still, there are two other points which are also true: One, to reiterate I have put several months-worth of free labor into making these things. Two, money is something we are required to have to comfortably survive and operate within our modern society. When people offer to subscribe on Patreon or leave a donation or buy my book or put money into my other work, they are saying, "I value the time you have put into making these things for me. Here is something you can use to put towards your survival, towards your growth, and towards the people whose time you value." The word 'greed' is another one of those words which seems to be getting its meaning watered down by an increasingly entitled and argumentative population, and this results in people who are truly greedy (of which there are many) are being equated with the average person just trying to make a living (of which there are also many). There is a lot of philosophical discussion to be had here, but this is not a topic I plan to delve into here on this website. Okay, so why can't you just manifest money if you're so good at it?
This is so common in metaphysical circles and so silly to me for a couple of reasons. First of all, at least within the confines of this particular reality, magick has a tendency to take the path of least resistance. The more channels you have opened for money to flow through, the more quickly and easily that money can come to you. Magick is also alchemical in nature. Therefore, you will find greater success doing something active (offering a space for donation, selling a book, etc.) alongside with your passive efforts (listening to subliminals, robotic affirming, etc.) so that those energies can come together to create that something new which you are trying to manifest. I do manifest money successfully using those principles, but I have other priorities besides money, as well.
